There is a strong feeling of preserved wilderness along this stretch of Sonoran Desert in Arizona. A sea of giant Saguaro cacti are dwarfed in the immensity of the landscape and the intensity of sunset's last light. Such a scene cares little about the latest problems making headlines or the ticking clock that cycles them through. (2016)

In choosing wind, water, and sand as its tools, nature carves unimaginable monuments to remind man that persistence is powerful, and that life, being short in comparison to the landscape around him, is a gift not to be wasted. (2017)

The vibrant sheer faces of Sedona’s iconic landforms are no stranger to evening sunlight. Less common are the winter snows that dust their craggy walls and blanket the valley below. These two elements are woven together in this dynamic and peaceful exhibition of light and shadow, cold and warm. (2021) 

It was a simple scene -- one filled with golden sunlight, light evening breezes, and the subtle grunt of the buffalo as the day came to a glorious close in the mountains.  (2022)

Among the wilderness, traces of the pure West remain. They unfold in rare living scenes unspoiled by man's influence. Cued by the rising sun, this bull moose relocated to feeding ground under the canopy of river bank cottonwoods in the heart of his majestic homeland. (2021)

The silence of sunset was broken as this bull moose rustled his way through the spiny sage. His measured gate provided a rhythmic soundtrack to a glorious day's end. (2021)

The interplay of the setting sun's rays and the jagged thrusts of Wyoming's Mount Moran created an unforgettable backdrop to this scene.  The even pace of soft trotting hooves patting the earth added a poetic soundtrack to this moment of western bliss.  (2024)

Evening light painted the canyon’s towering granite walls and glinted off of its smoothest faces. For a moment the stillness was broken by a lone raptor rhythmically carving circles above the dense forest below. It was a soft-spoken scene that came to pass in the splendor of the mountain’s shelter.  (2016)

After years of field work, slowing down to nature's cadence puts you in constant communication with its subtle whispers.  What  beauty might be found if we all slowed down and did the same. (2022)

A warm day of summer was cut by a cold and dominating storm that sent all living creatures for cover. As it passed, sunlight and raindrops mingled, and the ominous scene was transformed into a glowing glory of wonder. (2019)

Contrast is what impacted me in this scene. In the foreground was the calm water of a breathless evening. Not a ripple broke or a sound caused disruption. In the distance, the setting sun illuminated a storm with low rolling rumbles of thunder. These two elements came together creating a unique energy you could feel in the air. (2022)

As if driven by human emotions, these two horses found a comfort in each other that matched the peace and beauty of the scene unfolding behind them. For a moment it seemed that all of creation was in divine harmony. (2023)
