What was a clear and calm vista a few hours earlier took a dramatic turn with the passing hours. Energy was in the air, and the low rumble of distant thunder painted the calm breezes with audible poetry.   (2022)

I was immediately drawn to this bison positioned on an elevated ridge backdropped by dramatic storm clouds. When he gazed skyward, there was a sense of nobility and emotion that matched the mood of the scene. There is always a photograph in these moments of impact.   (2025)

The demeanor of this bison paired very well with the mood of the atmosphere on this early morning. Safely distanced from me, he stood as firm and stoically is the Teton range behind him. (2024)

All of nature seemed in harmony when an early rut season meeting brought these two moose together in the Wyoming wilderness.  (2020)

Like blooming flowers of Spring or turning leaves of fall, nature’s patterns unfold in the alters of moose. In late summer they shed the fleshy velvet that provides nutrients necessary for to grown and maintain a new set of antlers every year. This short-lived lasting just a few days a year is seen here as this bull stands stoically among the approaching days of fall. (2025)

American Bison have genetic roots dating back 200,000 years in North America – the eons having refined them to endure every hardship on the continent. Their immense mass and muscle, keen awareness, and stoic disposition commands attention. I often find that being in their presence reduces everything to just you and them. (2018)  

A heaven-piercing peak in the Colorado wilderness emerges from a fall storm. It's faces, freshly encrusted in snow, remind the colorful aspens below of winter's inevitable reign. (2023)

Arizona's iconic saguaro cacti stand tall against a backdrop of post-sunset pastels.  The monthly full moon lays watch over the serene Sonoran desert on a calm and colorful moment of dusk. (2024)

In choosing wind, water, and sand as its tools, nature carves unimaginable monuments to remind man that persistence is powerful, and that life, being short in comparison to the landscape around him, is a gift not to be wasted. (2017)

With generous spring rains, the barren Arizona desert explodes with life and color, adding further compliment to its iconic saguaro cacti and vibrant sunsets. Such unexpected potential may be nature's reminder of what gifis can be found in unlikely places. (2023)

The visual impact of horses paired with rugged country has always made an impact on me. Individually they are powerful, mysterious, and timeless. Together they are poetry. One could easily convince me that one was created to complement the other.  (2025)

It was a wonderful hour observing this fox deep in the belly of the Wyoming highlands.  With a long lens, I remained distant viewing its focused attention at the slightest perception of prey breaking only once to lift its head and acknowledge my presence.  (2023)
