Yosemite is coveted for its iconic towering peak-laden walls and the sanctuary of nature harbored within them. Along the banks of the Merced River the currents transition from free-flowing breaks to nearly stagnant pools that offer crystal clear reflections as divine as the peaks that tower above. (2024)

Wild animals have adapted in amazing ways to survival in their environment. Instinct is ever-present, and the job of surveying surroundings is a full time job. This moose takes in a huff of air to analyze his pursuit for food, presence of other moose in his community, and any other intel the natural world is offering. In doing so, he presented a mighty and commanding pose. (2020)

I felt this simple and striking profile of this elk had a strong message to convey. Backdropped by natural terrain, strength of form and feature came front and center. (2025)

More than 60,000 gallons of water flow over Yellowstone Falls every second. When it crashes 300 feet down at the foot of the falls, a sustained rolling thunder and a clouded blast of water is hurled into the air. The result is a visual spectacle given unique character in an array of lighting conditions that truly is one of the wonders of the West. (2025)

I’ve come to appreciate many nuanced traits of bison over my years of field work with them. Near the top of the list is their humble, unassuming demeanor. They don’t boast or make a show. A simple look or a grunt is often the only hint they give of their nuclear strength and iron will. These insufficient reminders leave it up to the onlooker to understand the unspoken word and observe the respect they so deserve. (2017)

The landscape is always special where mountain and river merge. Few places find them woven together so poetically as they are in northwest Wyoming. (2025)

Compositions like this, created at a safe distance, allow the viewer to engage with the subject one-on-one in a way they rarely can. Philosopher Martin Buber once said, “The eyes of an animal have the power to speak a great language”. The more I spend time around these great beings, the more I agree. (2025)

All of nature seemed in harmony when an early rut season meeting brought these two moose together in the Wyoming wilderness. (2020)

Iconic Saguaro cacti, sheer faced cliffs, and a ribbon of water are woven together in this Arizona desert landscape. This unique combination can be found in few places in the southwest – one that I relish the opportunity to explore. (2018)

Each year finds a range of young buffalo - from newborns to adolescents - among the growing herds of Northwest Wyoming. The youngest calves often hug close to their mothers contrasting their small frame and innocent behavior with the size, strength, and awareness of the adults. In a few short seasons, they adapt to the patient rhythm of nature and become the torchbearers of their noble breed. (2023)
